MEET GAGE!

Son of Flourishing Lives Owner

Gwen Claussen

When Gwen found the clinic (Flourishing Lives, in St. Clair Shores, MI), she and her husband were about at the end of their rope. They had tried everything and were not getting anywhere. They were tired, stressed, overwhelmed, and embarrassed but what concerned them most of all was their son's future opportunities.

Very soon after Gage started therapy, they saw a light at the end of the tunnel. Gage was responding. They were learning how to handle situations differently.  The whole family was healing and learning together.  Many years later they still have their struggles from time to time but Gage is excelling in school, has friends, and a bright future ahead of him because of Flourishing Lives.

WE'RE A LITTLE DIFFERENT.

Our therapy is relational and directed by the kids we help to increase internal motivation, self-esteem and problem solving skills. This helps to build trust and comfort with the process which is incredibly empowering to your child. The goal is to help the child feel successful in the activity which then motivates them to do more. We also encourage your family to participate in the process so you can incorporate what you are learning into your daily lives.

TESTIMONIALS

"Kevin is doing great in school. He's reading, adding two digit numbers, starting to participate more with classroom activities. His talking has greatly increased, he and his brother Mark play together so well.  He's much better at following instructions and  understanding them.  We owe so much to the therapist and all of her hard work.  FLSSC made the difference in Kevin's life.  Thanks for all you have done."

"The staff is very pleasant, patient and knowledgeable. We have really seen an improvement with our little one in the short time she has been there. What a blessing FLSSC has been to our child and our family.    -Clarese James

"My son Joseph stated many times during Interactive Metronome that he felt it was helping - that he felt better.  Organization improved.  Once started on his homework, he stayed focused and was able to complete it."

The staff are amazingly patient and occupational therapy works wonders on children with sensory processing disorders and ADHD."
